Welcome to the International Cricket Council Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 tournament, where 20 teams are to compete in this prestigious tournament. But before we get to the gripping final stage, let’s look at the format of T20 World Cup 2024:
The tournament begins with a preliminary round-robin stage. The 20 teams are grouped into four groups each consisting of five teams. Each team competes with every other team in its group once.
Eight teams move on to the Super 8s from the group stages. Here the format varies a bit. The competition involves eight teams and they are grouped into two groups of four teams each. The format whereby each team plays other teams in the same group once is also used in the group stage. Once more, the top two teams in each Super 8s group go forward to rugby’s most cherished phase: the knock-out stage.
The last four teams that qualify from the Super 8s contest for a knock out stage. This stage involves two half finals and then the final.
