LAHORE: Following the West Indies' 3-0 thumping of the Pakistan team in the ICC women's league series in Karachi, the PCB has reconvened its national selection committee for women's cricket.
The West Indies' offensive was spearheaded by all-rounder Healy Matthews, who scored 140 and 142 in this month's first and third One-Day Internationals at the National Stadium.
The chairman of the PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, has reconstituted the women’s selection committee following a disappointing performance at home. Men’s national selectors Abdul Razzaq and Asad Shafiq, as well as former women's international player Batool Fatima, have been added to the committee.
Aligning with the structure of the men’s national selection committee, the coach and captain will also be part of the national women’s selection committee. This committee will not have a chairman, and decisions will be made based on majority votes.
The new selection committee's first assignment will be to choose the Pakistan women's squad for the next trip to England. They have three Twenty20 Internationals and three ICC Women's Championship 2022–25 matches slated for May 11–29.
