The Punjab Kings are ready to participate at a new venue for all of their home games in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year.

The team announced on Monday that the newly built Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali, will host the team's home games for the 2024 Indian Premier League season, instead of the PCA IS Bindra Stadium.

Domestic matches have been held at the Mullanpur stadium in the last few years. It can hold up to 33,000 spectators and has excellent infrastructure and amenities.

In addition, the stadium has an advanced herringbone drainage system that allows removal in 25–30 minutes after the rain. The stadium's pitch is made of sand rather than traditional dirt, which is difficult to maintain but provides great stability.

The location has a top-notch gym on-site as well as two changing rooms of international caliber complete with ice, steam, and sauna facilities.

On March 23, the Punjab Kings will open their season against the Delhi Capitals, coinciding with the stadium's inauguration.

Previously, the 27,000-seat Inderjit Singh Bindra Stadium served as the team's home field. It was the venue for the franchise's home matches ever since the IPL began in 2008.
