The captain of the Mumbai Indians (MI), Hardik Pandya, shocked a lot of people on Wednesday by speaking after his team's humiliating 31-run loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). With a staggering 277 runs, the highest IPL total ever, SRH left MI facing an almost insurmountable chase.

That was insane. The ball was hitting hard, so it was bouncing all over the place. If the sent was not until we bowled, I am scared we would have been too close as well. Cummings would always find an edge, but that's when we rounded things up perfectly," said Cummings at the post-match presentation.

Of course, it is not about 270, but we wanted to be equal and take control, so to speak. It was a nice pitch, therefore we have to take it as it is knowing that we will always give them few boundaries.

What’s vital, however, is to remain with the ball and understand where to pass it. The crowd was just unimaginable, played so great, was just crazy loud," told the captain after SRH got their first win this season.

However, Pandya, skipper of the opposition team, could only take off his hat while the batters of the opposition side displayed a spirited fight bat.

"270 is a good score, no matter how good or bad you bowl. If the opposition needs that many runs anyways, they have played a strong innings," Pandya said

The wicket was good but 277 does not matter how good or bad the bowling is, if the opposition has 277 that means they batted very well.[Bowlers] were good. It was difficult outside," Hardik Pandya.
