Delhi Capitals defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 20 runs in Visakhapatnam on Sunday to record their first victory in the IPL 2024. At their second home, the ACA-VDA Stadium, Rishabh Pant & Co. put on an all-around performance to outwit the reigning champs and earn their first points.
After recovering from a potentially fatal car accident in December 2022, Pant made his IPL comeback. This was his first fifty in three matches this season. During the post-match press conference, he expressed his unwavering optimism that he will eventually return to the pitch. The DC skipper seemed to struggle a bit initially but he accelerated in towards the end of the innings as 43 runs came in the last three overs.
“One and a half years…this is something I have built my life on. I still have to keep learning as a cricketer. I had self-belief that whatever happens, I have to come back to the ground and I didn’t think about anything else. As a cricketer, I’ve to give my 100 percent. Took some time initially as I haven’t played much cricket in the last one-and-a-half years” Pant said during the post-match presentation.
