Hat-tricks are one of the rarest and most thrilling moments in ODI cricket and only a select few elite bowlers have done it more than once. Players such as Wasim Akram, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Lasith Malinga have done it in history, and all these hat-tricks are exceptional bowling performances. The hat-tricks turned the Match and showed the ability of the bowlers to bowl brilliantly and under pressure.

1. Lasith Malinga (Sri Lanka) – 3 Hat-tricks

Lasith Malinga is the only bowler ever in ODI cricket to achieve three hat-tricks. Malinga was famous for unplayable yorkers and his weird slinging action. He is on record for hat-tricks against South Africa (2007), Kenya (2011 World Cup), and Australia (2011). As one of the greatest limited-overs bowlers in history, his death bowling was lethal.

2. Wasim Akram (Pakistan) – 2 Hat-tricks

Pakistan legendary pacer Wasim Akram took two ODI hat-tricks against Sri Lanka in 1989 and 1990. Wasim was Known as the "Sultan of Swing," and his accuracy terrified batsmen, and he was a trailblazer in the white-ball format.

3. Saqlain Mushtaq (Pakistan) – 2 Hat-tricks

Saqlain Mushtaq was the first bowler in ODI history to achieve two hat-tricks. He did this firstly against Zimbabwe (1996) and again in the 1999 World Cup. Saqlain's control of the doosra and all his other variations made him a great match-winner for Pakistan during the 90's.

4. Trent Boult (New Zealand) – 2 Hat-tricks

Left-arm fast bowler Trent Boult now appears on the list with two ODI hat-tricks, one against Pakistan (2018) and another during the 2019 World Cup against Australia. His pace, swing, and sharp accuracy is part of the formula for New Zealand's bowling success.

5. Chaminda Vaas (Sri Lanka) – 1 Hat-trick

Chaminda Vaas may only have one ODI hat-trick, but it's a rarity to accomplish — Vaas took a hat-trick in the first three balls of the match against Bangladesh in 2003. He is still the only bowler to take a hat-trick from the first three balls of an ODI match.
