Veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up a new role with the Chennai Super Kings, a franchise he played for in the Indian Premier League from 2008 to 2015.
Ashwin though is still associated with the royals, he took up the job after being approached by the India cements group.
The center is expected to be fully operational by the start of the IPL 2025 season, with Ashwin playing a key role in its development, especially concerning CSK's academies.

This move has already sparked debates over a possible comeback of R Ashwin albeit in a possible trade-off with Rajasthan Royals.
If CSK are unable to buy Ashwin at the auctions there will be an opportunity for them to have him in a trade deal.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan was very happy hearing Ashwin Joining India Cements.
I'm very excited that Ashwin is coming back to the venture, He is a seasoned campaigner, and he is on our own the best campaigner, he has achieved some big success be it for Tamil Nadu or India, and he has a great commitment level which can help the young talent to come through.
