In the tenth game of the IPL 2024 season, Virat Kohli hit a massive six-off KKR spinner Sunil Narine, giving the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise a handful record.
With his second six of the match, Kohli's beautiful six against Narine not only helped RCB reach 1,500 maximums in their IPL campaign, but it also made them the second franchise in history to do so, behind Mumbai Indians.
Senior player and RCB firebrand opener Virat Kohli reached a blasting half-century after being selected to bat first in Bengaluru, giving his team a major boost at the top of the order. The cricketer had already hit three maximums off KKR bowlers by the time he reached 50*, one of which came off Sunil Narine in the eighth over of the innings.
The RCB team became the second club to achieve the remarkable milestone of hitting their 1,500th six in the IPL thanks to Virat Kohli's vicious assault on Narine.
Only Mumbai Indians, with 1,575 hits, lead the RCB franchise in terms of most maximums when it comes to overall sixes in both IPL and CLT20 matches.
Virat Kohli, "Hall of Famers" AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle, and other RCB six-hitters have contributed the most, with each player having amassed over 200 sixes for the team.
In the meantime, as RCB solidified their batting position in their second home game of the IPL 2024 season, players such as Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and skipper Faf du Plessis also fetched some runs for their team to take team's total to a respectable score.
