Former Aussie Captain Ricky Ponting has decided to stay away from India Coaching.

Ponting Turns Down India Coaching Role

Former Australian Skipper Ricky Ponting has declined the coaching role offered to him by BCCI, Ponting along with many other stars was on the Wishlist of the BCCI for this job.

Ponting stated that it ''doesn't fit into his lifestyle'' now. Coaches Like Justin Langer, Stephen Fleming, and Gautam Gambhir are also on BCCI's radar.

I got a few reports of these things, generally these things are present there in social media, you all know, I also had a little one-on-one conversation during IPL.

"I would love to be a coach of a national team, but with the other things that I have, I just want to have some time at home, with the India coaching, everyone knows one cannot coach an IPL side so I have to ponder about this too"

"The job of a national head coach is a 10-11 month job, and as much as I would like to do it, it just doesn't fit into my life right now and the things that I am happy doing.

"I've noticed a few other people are also in the reckoning as well. Justin Langer's name is also there, there's a Stephen Fleming, and Gautam Gambhir is also in the fray, But for me, it just doesn't fit in

Ponting had his family accompany him during the IPL and he told about this job offer to his son fletcher

"I told my about this to my son he was very happy and asked me to take it up, my family comes to the IPL every year they love their time here"

Meanwhile, Andy Flower, the head coach of RCB, also confirmed that he has not applied for the India head coach's role. Andy Flower says he won't be applying as he enjoys being a coach at the franchise level.
