Riyan Parag arrives in Jaipur to join the Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2024. This will be Parag's sixth season at RR. The inaugural champions signed him at ₹20 lakh before the 2019 season. The franchise re-signed him for ₹3.80 crore during the IPL 2022 mega auction.

While Riyan Parag has shown flashes of brilliance during his IPL career, he is still looking for a breakout season. The right-handed batter has only 600 runs from 54 matches, with an average of 16.22. Last year, the 22-year-old struggled with the bat, scoring only 78 runs in seven appearances at a terrible average of 13.00. Rajasthan finished fifth in the points table in the IPL 2023, narrowly missing out on a playoff position.
Riyan Parag has silenced his critics with excellent achievements in domestic cricket for Assam. He was the team's second-highest run-getter in the Ranji Trophy 2024, scoring 378 runs from six innings at an average of 75.60.
He has also performed admirably in T20 cricket, finishing as the leading run-getter in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with 510 runs from ten games and an impressive average of 85.00. Parag took 11 wickets in the competition as well.
During the event, Parag became the batter with the most consecutive half-centuries in T20 cricket, scoring seven fifties in a row.
Riyan Parag will be eager to replicate his impressive domestic form in the IPL. The Rajasthan Royals will begin their season on March 24 with an afternoon match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium.
