Shaheen Afridi is Highly Pissed after PCB Releases Statement Without his Consent: Report

The captaincy controversy involving the Pakistani cricket team has gotten much worse. Shaheen Afridi is upset that the PCB used a false statement that he never made to support Babar Azam's captaincy, according to a report from EspnCricinfo.

According to reports, Afridi was not asked for any statement by the PCB to be included in a press release. However, not long after Babar Azam was named captain once more, PCB stated Shaheen's name, pledging to fully support Babar Azam. Afridi is incredibly unhappy with how he has been treated during the whole captaincy U-turn.

"I will always cherish the memories and the opportunity," a statement, attributed to Afridi, said. "As a team player, I have to back our captain, Babar Azam. I have played under his captaincy and have nothing but respect for him. I will try to help him on and off the field. We are all one. Our aim is the same, to help Pakistan become the best team in the world."

But Afridi has never said one of those statements. According to EspnCricinfo, Afridi was ready to make a statement since he was so furious with PCB, but instead, the PCB summoned him for urgent talks.

Shaheen Afridi has agreed to further discussions, indicating the PCB's desperate attempt to calm down Afridi's anger and prevent the situation from growing worse.

The PCB's interference has only made the team's problems worse, endangering the crucial bond between Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam.
