Pakistan Test skipper Shan Masood has penned down an all-format deal with Leicestershire for the upcoming 2025 season. Shan will be joining the squad in mid-May after the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League(PSL) & he'll also be available to play the side's opening fixture at the Vitality Blast on May 31.
Leicestershire will be Masood's third club in county cricket. He had a good time with Derbyshire in 2022. He then joined forces with Yorkshire for two seasons & he was the captain of the side when they got promoted to division 1 last year.
Shan Masood will be Leicestershire's third overseas for the season joining Skipper Peter Handscomb & Netherlands International Logan Van Beek.

While he hasn't played a T20I for Pakistan post the 2022 T20 World Cup final and an ODI since May 2023, Masood led his team to a famous test series win at home against England after Pakistan remained winless in the test format at home for 3 years. Masood, overall has represented Pakistan in 70 International matches. Meanwhile, he has a spectacular first-class record with 12000 test runs.
"I'm very excited to play all the three formats for Leicestershire," Masood said. "I have always admired the club & have had some great conversations with many of them in the last season. I love playing at the Upton Steel Ground. The fans get behind the team in larger numbers & show immense support
