Smriti Mandhana has been designated an icon player for the Women's Maharashtra Premier League's debut season. Starting June 24, the tournament will be at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Gahunje.
The MCA announced that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will oversee the franchise-based T20 event, which will feature four teams.
MCA will be the first association from the BCCI to start a state league for women.

Aside from Mandhana, the other iconic players include Devika Vaidya, Anuja Patil, Kiran Navgire, and Shraddha Pokharkar.
The first edition of the competition will be priced at INR 20 lakh for the winning team and INR 10 lakh for the runner-up, in addition to additional individual prizes.
The team auction will take place on April 27, followed by the player auction on May 11.
The Cricket Association of Bengal [CAB] recently announced the introduction of the Bengal Pro T20 tournament, a franchise-based women's T20 tournament event, in June of this year.
