Johnson, who is the son of Alistair a former Zimbabwe captain, is in line to make his international debut having been selected for the five- match T20I series against Bangladesh starting on May 3.
The nineteen-year-old Campbell who is a leg spin-bowling all rounder was among the country's rising young players which took home the gold medal at the 13th African Games in March 2024. He averaged at115 runs from his four innings at a strike rate of 126.37. At this point he didn't need to bat or bowl. Slightly to his fortune he was successful in picking up a wicket though from two overs.
Top-order batter Tadiwanashe Marumani and all rounder Faraz Akram, who have both missed the T20Is in Sri Lanka, where Zimbabwe lost 1-2, been recalled to the side. They will officially start their campaign against Bangladesh in Chattogram starting with the first three matches on May 3, 5 and 7. Then they will move to Dhaka for the final two matches on May 10 and May 12.
