The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) grounded former Indian speed bowler S Sreesanth from every association activity for three years due to disciplinary reasons. Sreesanth received this punishment because he used false disparaging statements targeting KCA over the Sanju Samson Indian squad removal issue that triggered the judgment.

The KCA executed this enforcement during a Kerala Cricket Association special General Body session held on April 30 in Kochi. Sreesanth serves as vice-chairmanship of the Kerala Cricket League team Kollam Aeries at present while maintaining his position as an owner of the team.

Statement Said:

"The franchise teams won't face any more consequences because they responded to the notices in an acceptable manner. The group did, however, vote to recommend more prudence when assigning team management personnel,".

Additionally, it stated that the General Body decided to bring a compensation claim against Samson Vishwanath, Sanju Samson's father, and two other people for utilizing Sanju Samson's identity to make unfounded accusations.

The show-cause notice went to Sreesanth after he appeared on a Malayalam television station during a panel discussion where he connected Samson to the state cricket organization.

Samson's comments coincided with criticism of the KCA for leaving him out of the Kerala team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which was seen to have hurt his chances of being chosen for India's Champions Trophy roster.

Sreesanth allegedly accused the KCA during the televised conversation while promising Samson his backing and protecting him and other Kerala players.
