The hero of the night deservedly, was the American batsman Aaron Jones. Jones was simply magnificent with a whirlwind innings of 94 off 40 balls that had ten sixes and four fours to show. He then went on the fury with his batting and this surely stunned Canada and set the platform for a easy chase.
Jones was not the only player who wanted to show himself as a hero on the field. Opener Andries Gous contributed a useful innings of 65 off 46 balls after a little bit of a cautious start. Thanks to a 124-run stand between Jones and Gous, the USA was practically wiped out.
Of course, the Canadians also had their moments in the loss as well. It was the USA batsmen who showed their prowess, but left-arm spinner Harmeet Singh who emerged as a economical bowler. Singh collected the all-important wicket of Canada’s opener Aaron Johnson who scored 23 runs and bowled economically, giving away just 27 runs of his four allocated overs.
