At the 2024 Archery World Cup Stage I in Shanghai on Tuesday, Jyothi Surekha Vennam of India came in second in the women's compound qualification round.

With a score of 711, the 27-year-old gold champion from the Asian Games came in second place, behind Mexico's Andrea Becerra, who shot 713.

With a score of 704, the current Indian world champion Aditi Swami came in seventh in the qualification round. The two Indians who placed 14th and 23rd, respectively, were Parneet Kaur (703), and Avneet Kaur (696).

The Indian women's team, which included Vennam, Swami, and Parneet, the top three scorers, concluded the qualification round as the best team with a total score of 2118.

With scores of 706, Rajat Chauhan and Prathamesh Fuge, the other two Indians, came in at positions 18 and 19, respectively.

With a total score of 2121, Verma, Fuge, and Priyansh's Indian men's team came in fourth. The men's and women's highest scorers from India will also come together to form the mixed squad representing the nation in the sport. After South Korea's 1421, Verma and Vennam were seeded second in the competition with a score of 1419.
