As Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated the Mumbai Indians by a record-breaking 31 runs on Wednesday, Kavya Maran was the happiest person on the planet. With their destructive batting, SRH amassed 277/3 in the first innings, which broke RCB's previous IPL record of 263/5 against Pune Warriors in 2013. This total also became the highest in the tournament's history.

Match Summary:

The hosts got off to a great start thanks to opener Travis Head. Even though he lost his opening partner Mayank Agarwal (11) early on, the Australian struck 62 runs off of 24 balls, smashing three sixes and nine fours, to give SRH a solid foundation. Abhishek Sharma, the number three hitter, meanwhile, blasted 63 off 23 deliveries, including three fours and seven sixes. Heinrich Klaasen struck an unbroken 80 runs off 34 balls, smashing seven sixes and four fours, to help SRH reach their historic total, but the best was still to come. Aiden Markram (42*), a former captain of the SRH, continued to stay unblemished in the interim.

Maran was ecstatic the entire inning and showed a wide range of feelings! When Klaasen hit a six, she was also seen flexing her moves.

Pat Cummins Remark:

That was insane. The ball was really pinging around. Not until we bowled, it got a bit too close for comfort. They found a boundary whenever they needed it, but we finished it off well. (On Abhishek Sharma) Really impressive, in IPL you play with a lot of pressure but he plays with great freedom. (On plans in first innings) You never play for 270, but we wanted to be positive and be aggressive, take the game on. It was a good wicket, so we have to suck it up knowing we would go for a few boundaries. What's important is to have clear plans with the ball. (On home crowd) Amazing atmosphere in the ground, enjoyed playing here, was incredibly loud. Post-match SRH Captain Pat Cummins
