This season of the Indian Premier Leage 2024 will surely go down as one to be remembered. The season was more than just the close finishes and sensational games, but also one that smashed plenty of T20 records. IPL 2024: A record-setting extravaganza

A Batsman's Paradise:

Flat pitches, combative batting; a run-fest like no other. The season too had the highest average run rate (9.56) in IPL history, comfortably trumping what was then the previous record by a good distance. Gone were the days when teams would have been content with respectable totals; 41 more times sides broke 200 in an innings than before.

Six-Fest 2024:

The sound of the ball meeting the willow and flying over that rope was prevalent all through. A whopping 1260 sixes were scored during the tournament making it run away winner ahead of previous best. A testament to how the T20 batsman of today is a natural power hitter and cricket crowd favorites being big hitters.

Record scores and chases:

The IPL had a nail-biter finish, and then there was IPL 2024 where it did so much more. Punjab Kings (PBKS) scripted history as the Punjab franchise registered the highest successful run chase in T20 cricket while chasing 263 against Kolkata Knight Riders called for an unbeaten display of power-hitting from the openers. It was not a one time thing too. Sunrisers Hyderabad: The SRH set an IPL record for the highest team score (287/3) on two separate instances to display their striking capability.

Personal Excellence:

Though much of it was a team effort, several players stood out on their own. There were the most individual hundreds of the season (14) because to the brilliance of batters like Travis Head (SRH).

Above and Beyond the Stats:

The tale is not limited to the documents. IPL 2024 was a season full of memorable incidents, such the Mumbai Indians' extraordinary achievement of scoring 234 without having a single batsman reach fifty or the bowling spells that were so good that kept high-scoring teams at bay.
