Cristiano Ronaldo's 34th and 35th goals of the season in Al Nassr's last game of the campaign saw him break a Saudi Pro League record. Afterwards, the 39-year-old Portuguese forward magnanimously tweeted: "I don't follow the records, the records follow me." The ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United forward found the net with an injury-time effort before adding a header in the 69th minute to supply Al Nassr’s final two goals as they beat Al Ittihad 4-2 at home on Monday.
With a gap of 14 points behind winners Al Hilal, Al Nassr was already guaranteed a second-place finish.

Ronaldo began a wave of foreign players signing hefty contracts to play in the Saudi league when he joined Al Nassr, a team headquartered in Riyadh, in December 2022.
Ronaldo has been included in the team for this year's competition in Germany next month, which will be his 11th international competition. Ronaldo guided Portugal to victory in the 2016 Euros.
