The Indian Premier League (IPL) is famous by its exciting batting and high-scoring finals, but pressure in the final match can sometimes result in unexpected collapses. Let's see the top five lowest team totals in IPL final history and how even the best teams have crumbled under pressure.

Lowest Scorer Team in IPL Final History

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad - 113 all out vs KKR (2024)

The lowest ever score in an IPL final came in IPL 2024 when Sunrisers Hyderabad were all out by Kolkata Knight Riders for just 113 runs. At the Chepauk Stadium, SRH’s top order collapsed against Mitchell Starc and were never able to recover. With some resistance from Rahul Tripathi and Heinrich Klaasen, SRH were all out for 113 in just 18.3 overs. KKR chased the target in just 10.3 overs, culminating in a one sided victory.

2. Chennai Super Kings - 125/9 vs Mumbai Indians (2013)

In the 2013 final at Eden Gardens, CSK was chasing a modest target of 149 runs set by Mumbai Indians. Faced with early wickets, pressure mounted on the CSK batters. Although MS Dhoni batted valiantly with 63 not out, CSK ended with a total of 125/9, which is ultimately 23 runs short of the Mumbai target.

3. Rising Pune Supergiant – 128/6 vs Mumbai Indians (2017)

Ironically, in the same 2017 final, RPS also recorded one of the lowest totals. While chasing 130, they fell short at 128/6, managing not to get 11 runs from the last over. This final goes down as one of the closest and lowest-scoring finals in IPL history.

4. Mumbai Indians – 129/8 vs Rising Pune Supergiant (2017)

In a low-scoring thriller, Mumbai Indians scored only 129/8 after opting to bat first. Krunal Pandya's score of 47 was significant in reaching that total. Still, a disciplined bowling performance enabled MI to defend the total by 1 run in a dramatic finish.

5. Rajasthan Royals – 130/9 vs Gujarat Titans (2022)

In the 2022 final, Rajasthan Royals batted first and, unfortunately, only managed to post a total of 130/9. Hardik Pandya's all-round skills for Gujarat Titans (with bat and ball) ensured RR were not in the game at any point. GT chased it with ease to secure their maiden title.
