It was a great reception for Indian cricket team captain and run machine Virat Kohli from the fans during the RCB Unbox event which was held at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday in Bengaluru ahead of IPL 2024. Kohli has belonged to another franchise i.e. Royal Challengers Bangalore from the first IPL season back in 2008 and hope has always showered him with the nickname 'Kohli King' ever since.

Even though Kohli was embarrassed during the show, Danish Sait was told by him not to call him 'king' and he admitted to the fans that he always gets to hear it whenever he is called a king. He also mentioned that he discussed the topic with the South African player Faf du Plessis.

For the first time, you must stop terming it that name (King). Please call me Virat. Don't call me by that word (king), I was just telling Faf du Plessis that I feel embarrassed whenever the word "king" lands in my ears. I'm very embarrassed by you using that word " Kohli said.

"It was just awesome! When RCB-W won it WPL 2024 we were watching at home. If we end up together with RCB on the top places, and we manage to bring home the trophy, then it would be a dream come true for both of us".

It is my dream to feel a trophy-winning IPL in my hand. I will remain, I will be in your team to assist you in claiming the trophy for the first time. "I promise to put in my best, most of my abilities and experience to also enable the fans and the franchise to achieve that goal".
