Former Indian captain Virat Kohli achieved a huge record in the ongoing test match against New Zealand at Bengaluru. This elite already features the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar & Rahul Dravid.
Kohli, while batting in the second innings in Bengaluru became only the fourth Indian to score 9000 test runs. Kohli achieved this record in 197 innings at an average of 48 with 31 fifties and 29 hundreds to his name.

The 'God Of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar has been a revelation in the history of Indian Cricket. Sachin Tendulkar is the only Indian player who has featured in 200 matches for India. Sachin batted in 329 innings scoring 15,921 runs at an average of 53.8 with 68 half-centuries and 51 centuries.
Sunil Gavaskar achieved this milestone in 192 innings in 1985 while Sachin Tendulkar took 179 innings to achieve this record in 2004, Rahul Dravid was the last batter on this list who achieved this record in 176 innings in 2006.
Virat Kohli took the longest time to achieve this record (197) innings to overhaul the 9000-run mark.
Kohli was dismissed for an 8-ball duck in the first innings, while team India themselves recorded their third-lowest total in test cricket getting bundled out for 46.
Currently, Team India is in a strong position (231/3) in 49 overs trailing by 125 runs at the end of day 3.
