New Zealand has just played one game and found themselves at the bottom of the ladder, due to the heavy loss they received at the hands of Afghanistan, New Zealand will be playing after almost a week since that loss, and with a bad NRR, they are in rough waters at the moment.

Rovman Powell on New Zealand

"If there is the best time to play New Zealand it is right now, as you noted they are undercooked and under pressure, it depends on this game whether they will be going ahead or not, but first things first we are not focusing on New Zealand, we need to focus our game, rest of the things will be taken care of "

Rovman Powell and his West Indies players focus on writing their names in the history books of West Indian Cricket by winning another T20 Title and also enticing on the fact that they want to be the first team to win a home T20 World Cup.

I think playing the home World Cup is a benefit for West Indies Cricket, If we go and win the World Cup we will be the first team to win a T20 World Cup at home.
"And also the fact that it gives West Indies Cricket a financial boost to West Indies Cricket, many places are hosting the World Cup for the first time, It allows them to watch International Cricket and of the best standards. it is a beneficial factor for us as players, we need to win the world and register our name in the West Indies history books, winning a World Cup on home turf is a great feeling for not just me as a captain but for the whole squad, as we could be the first team to win a home T20 World Cup"

West Indies are separated from Afghanistan just based on superior net run rate, however, West Indies won those two games against the two weaker sides in Uganda and PNG, their big test will be against Afghanistan and New Zealand but Rovman Powell feels he and his side will be ok.

"I think we have been doing our job in the last 12-14 months, the guys have been practicing hard we have been doing good in T20 Cricket, it's just a continuation of the hard work that we are bringing to the World Cup, two of the most traditional teams Afghanistan and New Zealand but I feel we should focus on ourselves"
