Young Talent Gone Too Soon: Worcestershire Cricketer Josh Baker Dies at 20

In the recent shocking news, Worcestershire has announced the demise of their 20-year-old left-arm spin bowler Josh Baker. Josh who was spotted by the county club Worcestershire in 2021 played 47 games between different formats for them over the span of 2011-21 and he picked up 70 wickets while playing.

Along with this, Josh added a couple of first-class half-centuries that indicated he would progress to be an all-rounder of top grade.

"Josh’s death which came as a shock to all is now leaving us devastated," said Ashley Giles. “Josh wasn't just a team fellow, he was a crucial member of our family in cricket. We will sorely miss him. We humbly grieve and unite in prayers & support with Josh’s family and fellow friends through this difficult period.

"Above and beyond his prowess as a wrist spinner, it was his charisma and fun-loving attitude that attracted everyone around him. His charm, sincerity, and professionalism set him apart, making him a great ambassador to his family and our most charming teammate,” the cricket club said on its official website.

In this extremely trying time, the club is committed to helping Josh's friends, family, and coworkers. We are determined to honor his memory in a way that is appropriate for the extraordinary person he was, and we are united in our sadness.

"Arrangements to honor Josh will be decided after consulting with his family and will not be disclosed at this time. In light of this profound loss, Josh's family and the club respectfully ask for privacy. During this delicate time, no more remarks will be made," it continued.
