The years indeed come and go just like the way that Chahal continues to be an antagonist for the Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner, having scripted history tonight here in Jaipur with his 200th IPL wicket against the Mumbai Indians, thus becoming the first player to claim the milestone in the Indian Premier League.
Then what better than Chahal who began his career with Mumbai Indians in 2013 will go back to them for the special feat! Just last season, Chahal grabbed over reigning CSK’s first-hand player Dwayne Bravo who has recorded over 183 wickets out of which more than half (183) is his own.

The ability of a leg spinner to be a sharp and speedy spinner is beyond any doubt. To cap it off, Chahal is also RCB’s highest wicket-taker in the history of the franchise, having taken 139 scalps in just 113 games, and is the only bowler in IPL history to have taken over 100 wickets in one franchise.
The only thing his chapter in RR so far has done, has been to add yet another feather to Chahal’s cap, as he earned the Purple Cap in the 2022 season, owning 27 wickets at 19.52. He also headed their wicket-takers list last year with 21 wickets at 20.57.
He is now also the RR’s highest wicket-taker this season, having bagged 13 so far, and is again fighting to win the Purple Cap.
