Abhishek Sharma has undoubtedly gained everyone's interest with the quick starts he's been delivering for his IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad, which has served as the foundation for their several record-breaking performances with the bat this season.

Abhishek has the highest strike rate of 218.18 among power hitters who have faced at least 120 deliveries in the IPL 2024. In eight innings, he has 288 runs, including a half-century.

Abhishek has become the talk of the town

Abhishek has made his way into India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad debate because of his excellent batsmanship, especially given how significantly they like to exploit the bowlers in the powerplay.

Yuvraj Singh, who has worked closely with Abhishek, believes the youngster is on the verge of making his India debut but has another six months before he can do so. But still, Yuvraj thinks he is not prepared enough to get a place in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad.

Abhishek is almost there but I don’t think he is ready for the World Cup right now.

For the World Cup, we have to take an experienced side. Some guys have played for India. After the World Cup, he should be prepared to play for India. That is what he should focus on. The coming six months will be very important for Abhishek.

Abhishek's highest score so far in IPL 2024 is 63, and Yuvraj believes the 23-year-old needs to play a couple of huge innings to prove his worth for the Indian team.

His (Abhishek’s) performance is better. His strike rate has been phenomenal but big scores haven’t come. With this kind of strike rate, you must get big scores if you want to compete for a spot to play for India. Great strike rates, yes, but there have to be a couple of big knocks to make sure that you are worthwhile to play for India.
