Virat Kohli set a new record for the most centuries scored in the Indian Premier League history by completing his eighth century in the league during the 19th match of IPL 2024 against the Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.
The 2023 edition of the IPL saw the highest number of centuries scored in a single season, with 12 hundreds, achieved by nine different players. Gujarat Titans' opener Shubman Gill led the list with three centuries, while RCB's key player Virat Kohli followed with two.
Kohli not only became the first player to surpass 7000 runs in the competition but also secured the record for the most centuries in IPL history. His former RCB teammate, West Indian Chris Gayle, holds the second position on the list with six centuries to his name.

After playing in the IPL from 2008 to 2020, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson announced his retirement. He was a player for RR, RCB, and CSK. He was a champion with Chennai and Rajasthan. With an average of 30.99 and a strike rate of 137.92, Watson amassed 3874 runs over his 145 IPL games. 21 half-centuries and four centuries were also achieved by him.
