Vice-captain of India Jasprit Bumrah made history by becoming the first Indian bowler to reach 150 Test wickets in the quickest time i.e. 64 innings. Bumrah achieved the milestone in the second Test match against England in Visakhapatnam. In doing so, he ended Ben Stokes' exciting cameo with a gorgeous cutter, his 150th wicket in just 34 Test matches.

Fastest Indians to 150 Test wickets

R Ashwin in 29 matches
Ravindra Jadeja in 32 matches
Jasprit Bumrah in 34 matches
Anil Kumble in 34 matches
Erapalli Prasanna in 34 matches

Bumrah is the third-fastest Indian bowler to achieve this record, having climbed to this landmark alongside the likes of the great spinners Anil Kumble and Erapalli Prasanna. As the fastest Indian to reach 150 Test wickets, R Ashwin's accomplishment in just 29 matches is a credit to his exceptional skill and commitment.

Other players like Prasanna, Anil Kumble, and Jadeja have left their imprints on the rich history of cricket.

Fastest Asian pacers to 150 Test wickets

Waqar Younis (Pakistan) - 27 matches
Jasprit Bumrah (India) - 34 matches
Imran Khan (Pakistan) - 37 matches
Shoaib Akhtar (Pakistan) - 37 matches

When it comes to Asian pacers, Bumrah is surpassed only by the great Waqar Younis, who took the same amount of wickets in just 27 Test matches. Imran and Shoaib Akhtar of Pakistan, two renowned characters in the cricket world, are already in this elite group. They both achieved the milestone in 37 games, demonstrating the strong history of fast bowling talent in Asia.

After removing Tom Hartley, Bumrah achieved his tenth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. In the second innings, England's attack was dismantled by Bumrah's dismissals of Joe Root (5), Ollie Pope (23), Jonny Bairstow (25), Stokes (47), Hartley (21) and James Anderson (6).

Bumrah is a dangerous player in international cricket due to his ability to destroy batting lineups and his constant performance; his most recent achievement solidifies his place among the top fast bowlers in the sport.
