Mohammed Shami: The leading wicket-taker in the 2023 season, will not play in the Indian Premier League 2024 due to an ankle injury he sustained in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Shami had surgery in London not too long ago. The Gujarat Titans have not yet announced a substitute. Shami was the 'Purple Cap Winner' of last year.
Matthew Wade: The Australian wicketkeeper has chosen to play for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield final from March 21 to 25. As a result, he will miss the Titans' opening game on March 25 and maybe the second one on March 27.
Devon Conway: This batsman from New Zealand underwent surgery lately for a thumb injury, and an eight-week absence is anticipated. CSK has not announced a substitute yet.
Prasidh Krishna: The Indian pacer was ruled out for a 2nd successive IPL season after undergoing quadriceps tendon surgery in February. He had picked up the injury during the Ranji Trophy & no replacement has been named.
Mark Wood: To control Wood's workload before England's home summer and the T20 World Cup, the ECB pulled him out of the IPL. Shamar Joseph, a fast bowler from the West Indies, was selected to replace him.
Jason Roy: For personal reasons, Jason Roy, the starting opener for England, withdrew from the IPL 2024. He was replaced in the KKR team by England's Phil Salt, who is presently ranked second in the world in T20I rankings.
Gus Atkinson: The ECB decided to control his workload, thus the England fast bowler withdrew from his first IPL season. Atkinson was replaced by the quick bowler from Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera.
