For their three-match ODI series against the West Indies, Australia has called up batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk and bowler Xavier Bartlett. The two players have received praise for their outstanding efforts throughout the Big Bash League's 13th season.
Two young players were called up after Glenn Maxwell and Jhye Richardson were ruled out of the next ODI series against the West Indies because of an injury and the team's directives, respectively. With Pat Cummins out of the picture, Steve Smith will be captain of the ODI team.

Fraser-McGurk and Bartlett will play their first international matches in the three-match ODI series that begins on February 2 in Melbourne, Sydney, and Canberra.
Maxwell has been rested by the Australian side following the BBL season, with the assumption that he will play in the upcoming T20 series against the West Indies, which kicks off on February 9. Other important players like Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh, Mitchell Starc, and Cummins are also expected to miss the ODI series against the West Indies in addition to Maxwell's absence.
Known as a batting genius throughout Australia, Fraser-McGurk moved from Victoria to South Australia and has had an incredible domestic season. When he broke the world record with a 29-ball century in the Marsh Cup earlier this season, he shot to prominence. He amassed 257 runs for the Melbourne Renegades during the BBL with a strike rate of 158.64 and an average of 32.12.
In the meanwhile, Bartlett—who replaced Richardson—has contributed significantly to the Brisbane Heat's success this BBL season. With a bowling average of 14.82 and 17 wickets in nine matches, Bartlett is the tournament's top wicket-taker.
He will have the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities on the global arena as he has shown effectiveness in both the powerplay and death overs.
After winning the first Test by ten wickets in Adelaide, the Australians will play the West Indies in the second and final Test at The Gabba before the three-match ODI series in February.
