Due to bad weather, the Kolkata Knight Riders' Monday night charter flight from Lucknow to Kolkata was twice canceled: once to Guwahati and again to Varanasi. On May 11, Kolkata is scheduled to play the Mumbai Indians at home in the Eden Gardens.
"The KKR charter flight has been rerouted to Guwahati due to bad weather over Kolkata. We've just arrived here," the team announced on Monday in a formal statement. But soon after, they were given "clearance to fly back to Kolkata."

However, KKR tweeted once more, this time with the following update: "Update at 1:20 AM: Flight diverted to Varanasi after another unsuccessful attempt to land in Kolkata due to heavy weather. Present location: On the tarmac of Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport."
"Update at 3:00 AM: KKR team would be checking into Varanasi hotel for overnight stay," the statement said. Tuesday, May 7, in the afternoon, is the return trip to Kolkata, TBD. Kolkata, keep yourself safe."
