The Rain has favored South Africa probably for the first time in a World Cup, this washout helped South Africa to become the first team to qualify for the Super 8s.
Sri Lanka's chances were anyway slim with 2 losses on the bounce they had to depend on other results to go their way. They still have a very slim margin to qualify,
They need to beat the Netherlands and then hope that both Nepal and Netherlands beat Bangladesh, If Sri Lanka manages to win big against Nepal and the other scenarios go their way then the Net Run Rate will come into the picture.
