Neha . June 13, 2024

Only a few days after the legendary player from India, Sunil Chhetri, praised Real Madrid and Croatian player Luka Modric for his international career. A video message wishing Chhetri luck was delivered by Modric on the day of his final India match against Kuwait. Chhetri has now answered the tribute. The legendary Indian player referred to Modric as a "superstar" and prayed him an injury-free 2024 Euro.

Modric, who departed as the fourth-highest international striker of all time with 94 goals for India, paid respect to Chhetri's amazing career.

"I would want to thank you for the incredible 19–20 years. Regarding Modric, Chhetri remarked, "I have been a fan since his Tottenham days.

Croatian coach Igor Stimac of India has shared Modric's text with Chhetri on his X account. Between 2012 and 2013, Stimac oversaw Modric and the Croatian national team.

"Not only is he (Modric) a superstar on the pitch but also a nice and humble person," Chhetri stated.

"His contributions to Croatia are very remarkable. All I can want is that he has fun at Euro 2024. Chhetri continued, "I hope he's not hurt or in agony and that he plays as many minutes as possible in the competition.
Modric, who turns 39 in September, may possibly be participating in Euro 2024 for the last time in a significant international competition.
"I am sure people like me and a lot of other fans are going to enjoy him playing for Croatia in a big tournament, probably for the last time," Chhetri added.
After leading Real Madrid to his sixth UEFA Champions League championship, Modric is heading into Euro 2024.
