The captain of the Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni, has been impressed by a 17-year-old Sri Lankan bowler to the extent that he has been invited to the team's pre-season camp, which began earlier this month.
After watching a viral video M.S Dhoni was impressed by Mathulan's bowling during a Big Match between St. John's College and Jaffna Central College. Mathulan was shown in the viral video uprooting a batter's stumps with a yorker that crushed the batter's toes. He is reportedly bowling for CSK in the nets because Dhoni wanted to watch him up close.

This presents an excellent chance for the young bowler. He will gain priceless knowledge from training with seasoned IPL players.
He will be able to practice against some of the world's top batsmen, picking up tips from their strategies and receiving coaching from seasoned professionals.
Even though Mathulan might not be in the starting lineup this year, his presence in the CSK camp shows that the group is dedicated to developing young players. This might be the beginning of Mathulan's path to the major leagues.
