The last match that was held on this pitch was WPL's final between Bengaluru and Delhi, ultimately Bengaluru won this match. Since then not a single match has been conducted on this pitch as BCCI stated without proper renovation the pitch will not be suitable for IPL matches.
So after a long period, BCCI has finally decided to conduct IPL matches on this pitch. The first match will be played between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad on 20th April.
The pitch has been kinder to batters throughout the years, and it improves as the match proceeds, as indicated by the fact that teams batting second have won eight of the last 11 matches (before to the start of this season of the Indian T20 League). Since 2019, pacers have taken more wickets, but spinners have performed admirably at the venue in terms of economy and strike rate. Since 2019, the average first innings score has been 170, with an average first-innings victory score of 192 in the Indian T20 League. The ground is also not one of the largest in the country, and when combined with the submissive character of the pitch, It merely increases the hitter's edge and the bowler's disadvantage.
