Mayank Yadav of the Lucknow Super Giants has been a sensation this season, bowling at above 150km/h while maintaining excellent control. Mayank Yadav's brilliance in just three matches has prompted appeals for his inclusion in India's T20 World Cup squad. Notably, the T20 World Cup will be hosted in the United States and the West Indies, beginning just a few days after the current IPL season ends.
Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody has joined the argument about Mayank Yadav's inclusion in India's T20 World Cup squad. In an interview with ESPNCricinfo, Moody commended the young bowler, saying:
I've loved what I saw for a first couple of games, it was quite extraordinary to the point you want to see the replays of that game. But you cannot have a knee-jerk reaction and pick him in the World Cup when he has only played two games and got injured.
You don't know what he's capable of doing over a long period, under pressure and in different roles. Yes, he's an absolute lock for the future, and looks after the asset. For me, it's the 2026 World Cup you should be looking at (with him).

Mayank Yadav has only played three IPL games this season, making his debut against the Punjab Kings. Mayank has taken six wickets in three matches, with an economy rate of six and a strike rate of nine. In fact, Mayank earned the Man of the Match award in his first two IPL games. Since then, the pacer has been out of the LSG squad owing to injury.
