Cricket recently witnessed the emergence of another great talent as Bihar's Vaibhav Sooryavanshi became one of the youngest Indians to make his first-class debut. Remarkably, Vaibhav played his first international match for Bihar in the prestigious Ranji Trophy tournament at the young age of just 12 years.

What makes Vaibhav stand out is not only that he made his debut at such a young age, but also that he is also an all-rounder, being a left-handed batsman and a left-arm spinner. His exceptional skills were on full display in tournaments across different age groups and attracted the attention of cricket enthusiasts who wanted to witness the progress of his bright journey.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Early Achievements -

Vaibhav's cricketing journey first came into focus during the 2023 Cooch Behar Trophy, where he represented Bihar. He showed off his great performance against Jharkhand, scoring an overwhelming 151 runs off 128 balls and showing his aggressive style. This remarkable innings was complemented by a solid score of 76 in the same match, highlighting his consistency and class.

To further uplift his reputation, Sooryavanshi participated in Vinod Mankad Trophy 2023 and displayed an impressive record of 393 runs in 5 matches, becoming the 8th highest run scorer of the match. These performances laid the foundation for his inclusion in India's U-19 B team, which played in the home quadrilateral series against England and Bangladesh.

Vaibhav's contribution with the bat was crucial, scoring 177 runs in five matches, including a half-century.

Debut in Ranji -

Suryavanshi's debut has been compared to the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, who made his first-class debut at the age of 15 years and 232 days.

Although the similarities are striking, fans are excited to see how Vaibhav performs in the tournament at such a young age.

Controversy surrounding his age -

However, it is worth noting that Vaibhav's age is debatable. In an interview with BNN News Benipatti last year, he said that he would turn 14 on September 27. In contrast, his birth certificate shows him to be 12 years old and records him as March 27, 2011, as his date of birth. Interestingly, the BCCI signed him as a 12-year-old, which matched the latter's record, adding further intrigue to an already fascinating story and sparking a debate about age verification in cricket.
